Biography My love for film and studio has developed and strengthened over the last 16 years — beginning with when I was fortunate enough to have joined my middle school's TV studio. I knew immediately that becoming a producer and documentarian was the path I wanted to follow.
Since then, I have furthered my versatility, expanding my opportunities to become well rounded in videography, script writing, editing and interviewing. As a high school student, I initiated and filmed interviews with prominent leaders including Jesse Jackson and Sheryl Lee Ralph at the Congressional Black Caucus. From this, I gained courage, networking skills and learned proper interview protocol. In college, I was fortunate to go on-site at commercial shoots, scheduling interviews with Washington D.C. basketball legends, and ultimately editing highlight reels with ESPN, Inc. I cultivated skill sets around working in a fast-paced environment, time management, and working within a group setting to get the project done, even if I have creative differences. Throughout my career thus far, in addition to the technical expertise I have gleaned and honed in each position, I have developed an exceptional ability to maintain strong working relationships with management, while also showing strength as a leader and independent worker. I can comfortably and quickly establish rapport with individuals from all backgrounds and experience levels, whether on-air talent, celebrity guests, fans, mailroom attendants, and corporate CEOs. My greatest strengths are my excellent communication, organization and time management skills — a career in journalism has taught me efficiency and an acute attention to details, deadlines, and project objectives. I have a number of passions, and I am fortunate that film and a career as a professional storyteller have afforded me the opportunity to explore many of those, from American history and politics to my first love, sports. |
I was always a filmmaker before I was anything else. If I was always anything, it was a storyteller, and it never really made much of a difference to me what medium I worked in.” |
